Cebu Get Together, September 17-20 2024
After the 50th Anniversary reunion, we had a mini get-together in Cebu with Buddy, Joseph, Noe, Ruel and Baby, Jo and Alex. It was a supposedly a “For the Boys” affair—though we missed Emil!
Day 1
The first day kicked off with a classic Cebuano breakfast featuring suman, puto, tsokolate, and, of course, those delicious sweet Cebu mangoes.
After lunch, we drove through the new bridge linking Cordova and Mactan Island,
then we headed to Nustar Hotel and Casino for a light dinner. We took time to admire the elegant shops and lively casino floor.
Day 2
Day two was special—a blessed coincidence with Mommy Sofing’s (Jo’s mom) 87th birthday. We celebrated with a sumptuous lunch that included fresh lumpia, kalderetang kambing, and, naturally, Cebu’s famous lechon.
That evening, we capped off the day at Ole Music Bar, enjoying timeless 60s and 70s hits from talented local performers. A little disco dancing made the night even more memorable!
Day 3 – Sirao Garden
“We visited Sirao Garden and enjoyed strolling through the well-maintained gardens, which overlook a scenic valley and offer plenty of great photo spots. The manmade structures blend beautifully with the landscape. It’s cooler here than in Cebu City, and although it’s an hour’s drive from the center, it’s totally worth it.”

Day 4 – Santo Niño de Cebú

Bangus Fishing
At t=0, start time. Goal is to catch bangus for lunch.
Let B(t) = number of bangus caught at time t If B(t)= 0, for 0<t<=2, no lunch for these guys.
Update: B(0.5)= 1 (after half an hour), Joseph caught one.
Naka 2 na. Only 10 minutes left bago umuwi.
Hapunan na…kumain na kami dahil kulang ang isang bangus kanina para sa aming apat…
