Natural Bridge Caverns

“The Natural Bridge Caverns are the largest commercial caverns in the US state of Texas. The name is derived from the 60-foot natural limestone slab bridge that spans the amphitheater setting of the cavern’s entrance. The span was left suspended when a sinkhole collapsed below it.” Wikipedia

The Alamo and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

“The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) was a key event in the Texas Revolution. After a 13-day siege, Mexican forces under General Antonio López de Santa Anna recaptured the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. Around 200 Texians, led by James Bowie and William B. Travis, defended the mission against approximately 1,500 Mexican troops. On March 6, after repelling two assaults, the Texians were overwhelmed by a third attack. Most defenders withdrew to interior buildings, but nearly all were killed. Some Texians may have surrendered, only to be executed shortly after.”
